THERE’S not many views which can rival those looking out across Ullswater against the dramatic backdrop of the Northern Lake District fells.
The family-run park continues to develop and expand as its popularity increases, with families travelling from all parts of the globe choosing Park Foot as their destination of choice when visiting the Lake District.
The holiday park provides facilities for people to camp or pitch up their touring caravans or campervans among one of the most picturesque backdrops in the UK, with the striking Helvellyn mountain range visible from most pitches.
Luxury self-catering accommodation is also available through a range of lodges, holiday houses and cottages which sleep between 2- 10 people.
Coral Mowbray, a director at Park Foot, said: “We are truly privileged to have grown up, continue to live and work in such a beautiful part of the country, surrounded by these stunning views, and it’s so nice that we are able to share this experience with so many visitors.
“We’ve been on a really exciting journey and we continue to develop the park each year with new features and developments, whilst working alongside trusted partners such as H&H Insurance Brokers.”
Park Foot Holiday Park has been welcoming campers to their park near Pooley Bridge since 1951, with founder Jimmy Allen adapting the land after his grandparents offered bed and breakfast accommodation to guests for 50 years beforehand.
The family continues to adapt to the needs and requirements of guests and added 10 high-end luxury lodges onto the 40-acre site to mark the business’ 70 year anniversary in 2021.
Guests can also enjoy the excellent food and drink experience at TJ’s Bar and Restaurant located on the park, which now includes a pool table to provide extra entertainment.
The younger guests to Park Foot are well-catered for with two children’s playgrounds in the park.
Introduced earlier this year, the park brought the first exhilarating Ninja Trail to the North West, providing a thrilling obstacle course for those aged eight and over – the perfect addition alongside the area’s popular Cableway feature.
For those aged under eight, there are similar levels of excitement on offer in their own designated playground which includes a large spiral slide.
Visitors can relax at their own leisure as Park Foot has its own lakeshore beach or go for a paddle on Ullswater from the park’s launching and parking facilities. Park Foot recently developed a jetty at their lake access for customers to enjoy the use of.
Fishing for still water trout, perch, pike, char and Schelly wild brown trout is permitted for those with a rod licence.
There are multiple water and land-based activities on offer from Ullswater Wake and Surf and visitors can enjoy Barista coffee and cake from Robin’s. Both can be found at Park Foot’s lake access.
Coral said: “ We understand the importance of making sure all elements of our business are covered, so getting the insurance package suitable to our business was crucial to us. The H&H Insurance Brokers team took the time to understand our business and what insurance policies we need, and we are delighted with the high level of service and support we receive from them.
“Our account executive, Kara, is incredibly efficient and responsive, and it’s reassuring to know that we are working with a team who have our best interests at heart, who go above and beyond to make sure we benefit from the best cover possible.”
